About the Authors of the Metamorfose Afrikaans FAL Series
The Metamorfose Afrikaans FAL series was created by Nora Melissakis and Ketula Melissakis, combining decades of expertise in Afrikaans First Additional Language (FAL) education and curriculum development to provide a comprehensive, accessible resource for learners in Grades 7–12.
Nora Melissakis
Nora Melissakis, a long-time Afrikaans FAL teacher, taught in diverse settings across both public and private schools, from primary to high school. As an expert in teaching Afrikaans as an additional language, she deeply understands the unique challenges faced by learners.
Although she has retired, Nora continues to share her expertise and insights when required, contributing to the ongoing development and refinement of the Metamorfose series.
Ketula Melissakis
Ketula Melissakis, co-author of the series, has over 20 years of experience in writing, publishing, and instructional design. Holding a Master’s Degree in English and a background in psychology, Ketula specialises in crafting educational materials that cater to the specific needs of second-language learners.
Her commitment ensures the series remains fully aligned with CAPS and IEB curricula, providing educators and learners with a trusted tool for mastering Afrikaans FAL.
